The Center, in cooperation with the Qatar National Library, also organized an awareness lecture on November 23 entitled “Our Children in the Digital Age.” This is in addition to awareness-raising activities via social media sites, which include a set of interactive awareness-raising materials, with the aim of spreading awareness of the importance of celebrating this day and highlighting the importance of building a positive relationship between parents and children, how to support it, and enhancing the skills of dealing with them and ways to meet their various needs. It is worth noting that November 20 is an important day because it coincides with the same day in 1959 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, and it is also the date in 1989 when the Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Since 1990, Universal Children's Day has marked the anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the Declaration and Convention on the Rights of the Child.
